Terra Firma Fan Fic voting
August 16, 2008

Voting is under way for the Terra Firma fan fic awards. Yeah, LOL, I do have some stories nominated, but that's not the main reason I'm pimping the awards. There are a lot of stories posted at Terra Firma, and this is a great way to find the ones that other people thought were good enough to nominate. Go here to read and to vote. (If you click on the nominated titles, it will link you to the stories so you can read them.) Voting runs till August 23, 2008.

Yes, really, still writing....
August 16, 2008

Between real life keeping me busy, and some tendonitis in my right wrist making it hard to type, it's been slow going lately, but The Song Remains the Same: Coda should be finished and posted within a week. It's not super long, but it's pushing 7000 words at the moment. I hope it will be worth the wait.

Still writing. Really....
June 30, 2008

Still working on the sequel to The Song Remains the Same. It's coming along fairly well, and I have vague hopes of finishing it in the next week to ten days. I just took a break to write a story for the most rececent Starburst Challenge at Terra Firma. I just posted Still Checking here. Enjoy!

This and That
June 01, 2008

I've posted a new little fic, one that was written for the latest Starburst Challenge at Terra Firma. It was definitely a challenge, because I ended up with a prompt of characters and items that at first glance didn't seem to fit together at all. But I quite like the way Passing Over came out.

I'm currently working on an epilogue/sequel to The Song Remains the Same. That's is one of my favorites of the fics I've written, and I'm trying to do justice to the original story, while still giving in to the impulse I've had all along to give John his memories back after some time without them, and see what happens. I'm not sure how long it will take to finish. The muses have been very cooperative thus far, but at the moment I've just got the beginnings worked out.

PK Wars Filler
May 09, 2008

The muses just presented me with a little filler for PK Wars. Never look a gift horse and all that, even though as far as I can tell from the response on Terra Firma, there aren't a lot of readers for PKW filler.... I'm actually pretty pleased with how this came out. I was looking for a moment where John could share his joy in his new son with D'Argo, so beware.... Check out Out of the Frying Pan.... if you dare!

A new story!
April 23, 2008

Yes, I've actually written something! It's just been an incredibly hectic month for me, with traveling on vacation and also for business. Sheesh! My mind has pretty much been a blank! Heck, I have a half-finished fic that I worked on for both the 21st and 23rd Starburst Challenges at Terra Firma and still haven't finished! But the latest challenge involved putting a member of the Farscape gang into a non-sf television show, and the muses kept showing me Amanda King trying to deal with Rygel, and I just couldn't resist! Close Encounters is the result! If you're not a Scarecrow and Mrs. King fan, this might not be as much fun, but it gave me giggles!

At this point I've got several unfinished fics to work on (the previously-mentioned challenge fic, and the "Chess Lady" fic I've mentioned before), as well as a short PKWars filler that's percolating. I'm slower than I used to be, but I'm still writing.

A New Family Ties Fic!
March 02, 2008

The newest adventure of the Sun-Crichton clan is posted at last! Getting Away from it All (Ain't What it's Cracked Up to Be) takes up shortly after Chiana's rather traumatic visit. The story begins when the garda question Aeryn (yet again) about her part in the deaths of several members of the Nebari cleansing squad in Fun and Games, and John decides the family needs a little downtime together to decompress! I hope you enjoy it! It's on the long side, for me, about 30 pages (nearly 14,000 words).

Coming shortly, I hope, is the little Rygel story I mentioned in my last update.

Yes, I am still writing....
February 10, 2008

I've actually got three stories in the works: a followup to Of Cabbages and Kings in which John finally catches up with the mysterious "Chess Lady;" a season one story that I started for a Starburst Challenge which took a twist of its own; and a new Family Ties story, set fairly shortly after Fun and Games in which the Sun-Crichton family deals with the events of that story. I think the Family Ties story will be finished within two weeks, and the season one story shortly after that. Real life just takes more of my time than I'd prefer sometimes!

Terra Firma Fan Fic Awards -- Thank You!
September 10, 2007

I'm really pleased to have won an assortment of awards during the First Annual Terra Firma Fan Fic Awards. The awards covered fic posted at Terra Firma from January 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. Despite some stiff competition, I snagged quite a collecton of third place finishes (including the Family Ties Series as Best Series - Third Place), a handful of seconds (Hearts as Best Microfic - Second Place; Fun and Games as Best Characterization, Chiana - Second Place; and second place in the Best Author category), and I'm delighted to say Picture Perfect won first place in Best Future Fic, Medium.

It's an honor to know that people enjoy what I write; getting nominated or winning awards is icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone who takes part in these awards, and especially, thanks to those of you who keep on reading this stuff!

Woo-Frelling-Hoo! More Farscape!
July 16, 2007

The Sci Fi Channel announced Sunday that they had signed a deal with The Jim Henson Company to bring back Farscape for 10 webisodes, to be available through SCIFI.com. Few details are currently available (apparently the deal was just recently concluded), but the episodes will be produced by the Jim Henson Company and RHI Enterprises, with Brian Henson and Robert Halmi, Jr. as executive producers. The Sci Fi rep said that the webisodes would "revive and expand the beloved Farscape universe," and that some of the original cast would be involved. Obviously, this could be anything from 3-minute snippets to longer-length episodes. I don't care WHAT they are, they're new Farscape! To quote a friend of mine, "Even if they're three-minute episodes with a sheyang and a skreeth, it's new Farscape!!!" It'll give me a new universe to let John and Aeryn play in! Hell, yeah!!!

About Capitalization....
August 30, 2006

You may or may not have noticed I'm not always consistent in whether I capitalize terms like "Sebacean" or "Scarran." It's because I'm really of two minds about doing it. Generally, the names of alien species are capitalized in science fiction, I suppose to emphasize that they are, well, alien. But we don't capitalize "human." So, sometimes I think it's better not to capitalize similar terms, except when they refer to a government. And other times I think, "Well, they do capitalize them in the scripts and the Illustrated Companion books," and go ahead and do it. Please forgive the confusion -- and I do try to at least be consistent within an individual story!

More thanks are due!
February 04, 2006

I just had to say thank you to Imloco2 for helping me come up with the very cool story icons I'm using for the Fallout series stories! Accompanying this announcement is Merry, the youngest of the Sun Crichton children in the Fallout universe, and you can see her siblings Livvy and TJ also by taking a look here. Aren't they perfect? Loco did most of the work, I just said, "Yes! That's it!" Thanks, Loco!!!

And by the way, look for a seventh Fallout story, featuring Livvy on earth, probably by the end of February!

Meet Pippin as seen by ScorpSik!
January 11, 2006

As you know, I've been slowly adding icons/pictures to this site. Since the Family Ties series is the main one I have going right now, I especially wanted an icon, a "logo," if you will, to represent this series. Chiana's young son Pippin (being raised by John and Aeryn at the moment) has pretty well taken over many of the stories, and I thought he'd make the perfect representative for the series. As he is an original character, I knew I needed an artist to bring him to life. The very first person that came to mind was ScorpSik, because I knew she'd be able to do the imp justice. I'm so thrilled she agreed to tackle the job -- Isn't he just perfect? I smile every time I look at him! He even looks like Chiana!

Thanks so much, ScorpSik, you have my undying thanks!

Moving Forward Icon by Aurelie
January 10, 2006

I wanted an "icon" to represent parts 1 and 2 of Moving Forward, and I wanted something to do with the "TO BE CONTINUED" that we got at the end of Bad Timing. I couldn't find any screen caps I liked, and put up a plea on Terra Firma to see if some of the wonderful artists there had or could make something for me. Aurelie came up with this, and it suits perfectly! Thanks so much for helping me out!

Syndication -- In case you hadn't heard!
September 25, 2005

The long-awaited US syndication of seasons 1-4 of Farscape begins this coming weekend -- October 1, 2005, on most stations.

Most, though not all, of the stations showing Farscape will be doing two "runs" of the show each weekend. The first run will begin with season 1, and continue from there, and the second run will begin with season 2, and continue from there. This was done because the stations didn't want to show the same episode twice in a weekend.

Check the list at Frell Me Dead for your local stations -- and Superstation WGN, which is available on many satellite and cable systems, is listed under "Chicago, IL." If you have questions, now is the time to direct them to your local station!

Whew! We're open for business!
July 29, 2005

Many, many thanks to the fantastic Scorpy808 for the design work on this site! I totally reached the limits of my design abilities with my old site, and she did such a great job on this, I'm totally jazzed! I've uploaded all of my Farscape fan fiction here as of today. I expect I'll be adjusting dates and possibly categories as well over the next few weeks, but the stories are all here. With the big push to get everything up, I probably made some screw-ups, so if you see anything -- odd categories, inconsistent setting/spoiler references, truncated text, anything -- let me know by using the "contact" link at the bottom of each page.

And, if by any chance there's a favorite story of yours that's missing, please let me know and I'll go looking. I did find in uploading that there was at least one story that never made it to the old site, and I hadn't realized it....

So, welcome to my archives! I hope you'll enjoy!
